Public Health recognizes the importance of Prenatal Education for expectant parents. Offering free Prenatal Education eClasses through InJoy online program. These eClasses are recommended for parents expecting their first child, as well as anyone looking for a refresher. The four eClasses include: Understanding Pregnancy, Understanding Breastfeeding, Understanding Birth, and Understanding Your Newborn.

Gateway Community Health Centre
Gateway Community Health Centre provides prenatal education for Central Hastings. This includes 1:1 early pregnancy education, a prenatal series including labour and delivery, breast feeding, and postpartum, newborn and safety issues. They also provide breast feeding support once home either through 1:1 through office visits, home visits or at the community Cradling Arms program.
EarlyON Child and Family Centres
EarlyON Centres are a place for children up to the age of six and their parents and caregivers to take part in programs and activities together. They bring together in one location information about children's services and programs in the community. If you have questions about your child's development, or want to know how to get information or services for your child aged 0-6 in your area contact your local centre.

A class for parents to learn about introducing solid foods at 6 months of age (ideal time to attend this class is when your baby is four to five months old). Hastings Prince Edward Public Health supports anyone who is considering taking a step towards quitting smoking. Offering home visits to pregnant women and new moms with a baby (up to 12 months of age) who want to quit smoking. Through this program mothers can access:
- Free nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, lozenges)
- Free quit kit resources
- Help to make a quit plan
- Support for her and her partner
