Online Prenatal Classes - Region of Waterloo Public Health
The online prenatal program, The Gift of Motherhood eLearning, is an interactive course with audio, videos and games that allows you to understand all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, as well as postpartum care and breastfeeding. The program is free and available to residents of Waterloo Region.
Breastfeeding Support - Cambridge Memorial Hospital

Pregnant women and their partners attend this class at approximately 34-36 weeks of pregnancy. The goals of this class are to enable prospective parents to make an informed decision about infant feeding and to promote successful breastfeeding. Patients can register for these classes during their prenatal visit. Please call to register.
Breastfeeding Support - Grand River Hospital

Some mothers need breastfeeding support after going home with their baby. A follow-up appointment may be booked for you with our breastfeeding support services (BFSS) staffed with international board certified lactation consultants (IBCLCs) when you are discharged from the hospital or you may call 519-749-4355 to book your own appointment. We offer telephone support and clinic appointments to mothers in the Waterloo Region with babies up to one week of age.
BFSS operates seven days a week for babies newborn up to seven days of age, with the exception of December 25 and January 1. We are located on the hospital’s main floor just inside the main entrance to the right of the volunteer desk in the children's outpatient clinic.
Breastfeeding Support - Region of Waterloo Public Health
Public Health Breastfeeding Services is run by Public Health Nurses. This service offers one-to-one breastfeeding assessments, advice and referrals to community supports free of charge. All families are encouraged to receive breastfeeding support from a health care provider within 48 hours of discharge from the hospital, even if there are no concerns. The service is available to all families with infants of any age and to those who would like their breastfeeding assessed. There are two clinic locations, one in Cambridge and one in Waterloo. Newborn Support Program - Two Rivers Family Health Team
The Newborn Support Program is a health promotion, disease prevention strategy developed to promote, protect and support breastfeeding. The program provides a comprehensive prenatal breastfeeding assessment, a post discharge from hospital clinic visit, and ongoing support to address breastfeeding problems or concerns with a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. We also provide a variety of classes such as Introduction to Solids Class.

Healthy Children Info Line

The Healthy Children Info Line can help you with questions about the healthy growth of children up to the age of six. Public Health Nurses answer your questions about breastfeeding, child development, child nutrition, community groups, parenting issues, postpartum mood disorder, and safety. They may also connect you with the appropriate community resources. The line is available weekdays, 9am to noon, and 1:30pm to 4pm.
Postbirth Clinic

Postbirth Clinics are provided by a partnership of Grand River Hospital and Region of Waterloo Public Health for mothers and newborns discharged from one of the hospital. The clinics offer voluntary support for mothers and babies. Appointments take 20 to 30 minutes. Your partner or a support person is welcome to come with you. Call for more information.
Breastfeeding Buddies - Region of Waterloo Public Health
A Breastfeeding Buddy is a caring, committed and trained volunteer who has breastfed. Buddies provide one-to-one and group support for breastfeeding moms and help connect them with community supports and resources. They understand and listen, provide encouragment, respond to questions and concerns, and share experiences. Please follow the link above or call for more information on the program.

Positive Parenting Waterloo Region
The Parenting Alliance of Waterloo Region is a group of agencies in Waterloo region who work with parents and children from prenatal to 18 years of age. The alliance exists to promote the importance of positive parenting, engage community partners in discussions and planning activities for the development of a comprehensive approach to positive parenting in Waterloo Region, and to implement/coordinate activities for the planning of a comprehensive approach to positive parenting in Waterloo Region
EarlyON Child and Family Centres
EarlyON Centres are a place for children up to the age of six and their parents and caregivers to take part in programs and activities together. They bring together in one location information about children's services and programs in the community. If you have questions about your child's development, or want to know how to get information or services for your child aged 0-6 in your area contact your local centre.
Village Mommy
VillageMommy.com is a free service with a mission to bring the supportive village feel back to modern motherhood. The service help moms find other moms within walking distance who have babies/kids the same age as them. Peer support is proven to help moms' mental health and even improves outcomes for babies!

Car Seat Safety Clinic

Car Seat Technician volunteers take an active role in promoting the health and safety of the children in our community by assisting parents with the installation of car seats. Volunteers receive comprehensive training as technicians through St. John Ambulance to assist in educational workshops and clinics. A qualified technician will assist to install each car seat and a senior technician will verify the proper installation prior to leaving. Please bring the manuals for your child seat and your car. All inspections are by appointment only. Please call to make an appointment.
