Prenatal Classes - Eastern Ontario Health Unit

The classes are divided into an Early Series and a Late Series, and will take you through the whole experience of pregnancy and the early weeks of parenthood. Topics covered include; development of the fetues, physical changes of pregnancy, nutrition and physical activity, breastfeeding, labour and delivery, support during labour, and caring for an infant. Baby's Best Start: Prenatal Nutrition Program - Eastern Ontario Health Unit

Baby’s Best Start is part of the Canadian Prenatal Nutritional Program. This program provides pregnant women with support during their pregnancy such as nutrition counselling, prenatal vitamins and food coupons (if eligible), education on feeding your infant and connection with other community agency programs and services when necessary.

Healthy Babies, Healthy Children (HBHC) is a program that promotes healthy child development to help children achieve their full potential. This program is for pregnant women and families with children up to the age of six. A family home visitor or a public health nurse may visit you in your home to discuss healthy lifestyles, your child’s development, breastfeeding and parenting. They will answer all your questions, address your concerns and provide information on community resources.
